I must confess...

2014 was definitely not my year for blogging. That is the understatement of the year I'm sure. I seem to recall doing a lot better In 2013 even though that was one of the worst years for me.

18 posts in 11 months. Pretty crappy if I do say so myself. But towards the end of the year my heart just wasn't in it. I was trying to blog all these awesome moments happening and then when I remember I either didn't have time to fully commit to a post, or another adventure came around. And then even worse I would have this great post about coming back and what I wanted to do, but then laziness would kick in and I would read a bunch of blogs and not write any of my own.

I wanted to blog about my fitness/weight loss mission, my relationships woes (and there has been a lot) and any other wonderfully chaotic things going on, but no dice. Then around my birthday in October I realized that when I started back up again blogging I wanted it to be because I actually enjoy it instead wanting people to care about stuff that might only be interesting to me.

And now on my 3rd try (third times a charm) I'm going to come back with a vengeance. Well not as intense, but of course I plan on revamping myself and my blogging ways that work with my busy life right now. I'm ready to blog for me and use it for what it was originally intended. A chronicle of my Bourgie life.

I've got a...

New layout in the works
New blog time (Aside from tonight, Sundays should be my day)
New outlook on life.

So to all my old blog friends I hope you haven't seen the post pop up and roll your eyes. This won't be the last one for months again I promise.

To the new blog friends that I hope to make now that I'm back, hey there! Welcome!!

I guess 28 is looking good on me :)

Xoxo

Hello August...I'm back!

So it’s a new month.  My Hiatus is over, again. This time I’m going to stay on the plan. I may sound like I’m an addict trying to stay sober for the umpteenth time, but that’s okay. I realized in the last 2 months how much I need blogging. It’s become something that I use for sanity, strength, and clarity. That’s a lot of pressure on something that is supposed to be just a fun hobby. But with all the things I have going on right now, it’s very much needed. Summer is almost over and I plan to spend these last couple weeks developing my “habit” again. But I am not going to be over ambitious and blog every day. For now, I’ll give myself 3 days a week. Maybe 4 if there is a special occasion. We will see how that goes.

My need for structure (military kid) and lack of stability in my life recently (job, friends, money) has caused me to miss what blogging did for me. It became work and I avoided it as much as possible. But when I got a chance to read some of my favorite blogs, I suddenly was recharged again and wanted to comment and use some new blog ideas I had. Very quickly the motivation fizzled out as soon as something frustrating happened in my life. That actually should have been the time that my computer was attached to me; using writing as an outlet and giving me something positive to focus on.

So this time I want to blog again because it makes me happy and I enjoy that connection I have made over the years with the community. I want to build that back up again. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for me.

Now being that it is Friday, I thought I would also do a little recap of how my week went so I can say goodbye to July on a good note.

1. Tried 2 new Pinterest recipes this weekend. 1 was a success and the other was a mere “Eh”. I will definitely be doing posts on those because I need to share with the world the improvement of my cooking skills. Or maybe the improvement of following directions.

2. I got a call on Tuesday that I got the Hostess position I interviewed for last week! I’m excited because I needed for more money coming in. 2 months late but it’s still happening. I am now officially a “Jamaican” with all the jobs I have now (if you have never heard that joke, don’t worry about it. It’s a Caribbean thing, being that I am Guyanese).

3. I’ve been on 2 dates with the same guy. I’m starting to branch out and be more open to the idea of new people.  Dating such a trial and error. I can’t believe I wanted to do it so bad when I was IN a relationship. Grass is always greener on the other side I guess. But we will see how things go with this guy. For now he’s someone I can continue chilling with.

4. It’s not exactly a highlight, but things have been going well with my personal trainer, but I suffered my first “injury” with him. Box jumps are not for the faint of heart and I was able to reach my goal of hitting the highest box, but not before achieving an abdominal strain. Right below my bellybutton feels like something ripped. Luckily it’s not too serious. But me and icy hot have become very good friends lately.

5. NSYNC released a compilation album. Well the record company did, not actually the guys. If that’s not a great highlight to my week I don’t know what is! This will be ordered ASAP!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a great night and celebrated with friends and family. I danced the night away at a club with drinks and friends. It was a long night but all in all a good time. I didn't get to see the NYC ball drop but there was a nice little balloon/confetti drop in the club that made up for it. I went out last night without a case on my Iphone (pause for gasp) so I didn't have it out much, which meant not many pics were taken. I got a few though.

I really meant a few. 3 pics thats all.

So now that it's 2014 its time to get moving! This is my first post of 2014 and I thought it would be great for it to be about my resolutions. Not my regular resolutions, but ones that I have made for my blog. I guess this is sort of my goal-list for not just a month, but for however long it takes. Like I've said previous, every time I make a monthly goal list I don't actually accomplish too much and it makes me feel like a loser. But if I create a list that I progressively want to work on and not have a set deadline, maybe it will go better. See, this is why I can't have a gym membership. I would go for a little bit, drop off, and then pick it back up after months of paying and not going. Sounds like a waste of money, no thanks. Anywho...cheers to the beginning of hopefully a great year!

1. I would like to venture out and do more advertising to increase the exposure of my blog. So I am finally jumping in and purchasing some. This will also help with my creation of buttons, ads, and also interacting with more bloggers!

2. I love the progress I have made with my layout. But in order to focus on details and little fun touches I feel like I need to scale back on my overall look. I want more glitter and such, but I think a simpler background may make it easier to focus on my blog. We shall see what I come up with. I enjoy learning HTML so I hope it gets easier this year! Plus Blogger rocks when it comes to making me feel like I am an expert.

3. As many lists and ideas I have for blog posts, its a shame I never get a chance to put a lot of them up. I forget about them, or I plan and draft, but never end up posting. I think a consistent schedule (like MWF or MTF) would help me plan my posts better. I love participating in Link-ups so maybe I'll come up with one!

4. I love reading all the comments I get on my blog (i love knowing that people actually read the blog!) but I am sooooo bad at replying to comments or commenting on the blogs that I read religiously. I want to engage more and connect. Is that cheesy? I am such Fangirl with some bloggers that it would be so much fun to talk to them on the regular. So we shall work on this. Prepare for comments galore and don't feel like I'm ignoring you!

Do you have any blog new year resolutions?

Blog Catch-Up

Its been about 2 WEEKS since I last wrote a post and I have to say its been quite eventful.
But in my coffee induced euphoria this morning I thought it was finally time to crack down and get back.

So to play catch up I'm making it as easy on myself as possible. Lovely list!

1. Birthday times! The 9th was my birthday and I have to say the week of events made turning 27 feel pretty awesome. If you have been following me on Instagram you probably have already seen the debauchery (okay maybe not full on debauchery) that ensued. Strip club, drunkaoke (yes that is a real thing), and a visit from the parentals. No birthday would be complete without a argument with the ex boyfriend and a cupcake. I'll do a separate post with more awesome details.

2. UNC Charlotte's first football homecoming. This was such an amazing experience. It overlapped the visit from my parents so needless to say my weekend was very busy. An alumni bar crawl started the festivities and it ended with a tailgating extravaganza that had me feeling like it was 2008 again (my Jose cuervo induced time of my life) Truly a reunion of sorts. This is the only time where it is okay for all my ex boyfriends to be corralled and it be okay. As long as I have my 49er punch to distract me!

3. I am actually writing this post in the teachers lounge of my new job! As a nice little birthday present I was hired as a teacher assistant for an elementary school. I interviewedTuesday and was hired Wednesday (woot woot)  Pro: full time status and benefits (hells yeah!)oh how the priorities change as an adult (well adult-ish) Con: now a 30 minute commute and a punch in time of 715. I am the epitome of not a morning person so it should be interesting when the children experience me without coffee. Should be a good time. Ill definitely do a post about my first week here. Very interesting to say the least.

4. Your girl is moving up in the world. And by up I mean off the floor. Thanks to ikea and the parentals no longer wanting me to sleep in my house like a crackhead (not a nice image) I am now the proud owner of a queen size pillow of heaven. My room no longer looks like a squatter made camp in our house and brought a whole bunch of shoes with them. As a hardcore sleeper and lover of naps (since 1986) I am so happy to be off of a futon and enjoying slumber like the rest of my roommates. My lower back pain can suck it.

Those are pretty much the most important things to touch on. Of course there will be more elaborate posts once my body gets used to operating from 6am to midnight (having 2 jobs is kicking my butt right now). But for now its whenever I can squeezed some time in.

Have a great rest of the week!

My Nav-Bar!!

Anyone who visits my blog can see that I've been slowly doing some changes.

I'm slowly doing this so my blog doesn't does accidentally get deleted (which has happened before so now I tread lightly). My biggest accomplishment so far has been my Navigation Bar!!!

Lame i know for me to get excited about it but since I am learning as I go its awesome to see something finally take shape after staring at the computer for hours!

I have an About Me page now!! You know you want to see me in my Disney Cast Member outfit :)

Look at my 101 things I plan to do in 1001 days! I am slowly getting things done on this list!

I have a button!! You can take it!! I'm so proud...its my first one! I want to start button swapping!

Please check it out if you get the chance.

And if you haven't done a 101 things to do in 1001 days I high recommend it :)

I am going to be posting about most of the things when I accomplish them.

**All my followers were deleted when I had blog issues...so if you were already following me from my old blog...hit the "Join this Site" button again so I can keep the same readers!**

7 Questions!!

Today is my first time doing the 7 Questions so i'm really excited!!

(dont ask...lol)

1. It's back to school time! Are YOU going back to school? I graduated from college in 2008. I am definitely considering getting my Masters but that requires M-O-N-E-Y and i'm still paying off my loans from my bachelors!! But I would love to get my Masters in Higher Education. We shall see in the next year.

2. Speaking of back to school... You receive 10 pts if you can name this movie:
"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."
I confess that I had to look up this movie. You've Got Mail is such a cute movie though. I haven't seen it in forever so I may dig into NetFlix and see if they have it!

3. Who did you hang out with in school? Cool kids, jocks, nerds, were you a loner, etc? (all are welcome here- btw) I would say that I was a floater....I was a cheerleader so that was considered a "cool kid" and a "jock" (cheerleaders were big time competitors at my school) but I was also Student Body Vice President so I was frequently around "nerds". I hung out with everyone so everyone liked me. No problems there. I think thats how it should be. Everyone can find at least one common interest you just have to take the time to find it.

After School Beach times were frequent!

4. What was your favorite subject in school? Anything that required my creative juices to flow. I loved English (i was able to write about whatever I wanted) and Theater (I was creative director) and Event Planning (planning a department banquet for my College). I tend to not do well in math or science....ZZZzzz

5. (I've asked this question before, but it was a while ago) If you had to go back and redo one of the following, which would you choose and why? Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, High School, College? I would definitely do Middle School over again because I might have become interested in other sports. Or I might have taken more opportunities in activities and experiences. Everything happens for a reason but I think I might have a different outlook on sports or maybe not have wasted time doing certain things.

6. Home/ Packed Lunch or School Lunch? School Lunch!! Going to school in Hawaii was a great experience and one thing that I lucked out on was amazing and delicious school lunch! Okay well maybe not amazing but most of it was really tasty! Chicken sandwich and Kalua Pork (yummy) Days were the most popular and we had a salad bar and Nacho Day and great things. Not as healthy as it should have been but it kept us happy.

circa 2004

7. What's more exciting? The first day of school or the last day of school? Definitely the first day of school. I love getting new clothes and new school supplies (yes getting new pens, paper, and notebooks) and the anxiousness of new classes and people. The last day of school is more of a relief and excitement to just be done! But the first day is kind of awesome because you get a fresh start.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I am Thankful for...

Today has been really crazy and chaotic so because of that I thought I would write a quick post to really focus on what I'm thankful for these days. I thought this link by Felicity was really cute so I'm doing it today!!

Thankful Tuesdays

I am thankful for...

1. My family: They have really helped me out and supported me during this "summer of change" as I like to call it. My cousin took me in to live with her (rent free) to find myself back in Charlotte and to really get my groove back down here. Not that groove lol but more about starting a new chapter in my life. My parents have also been really supportive and even though they thought I was nuts for leaving a job and life in Orlando they can actually see the happiness that has come back since I moved.

In more somber news I am truly thankful that my grandparents are still with me. My grandfather had serious heart surgery last month and has been recovering and battling complications since June. I have tried not to write about it but it has really put me in a mindset to really appreciate my family and get closer to them and do better. I am visiting him in a couple weeks and I have heard over the last few days that he is starting to get back to his old talkative self so I hope this keeps up. The idea of losing him really hit me hard and I'm not ready to let go yet. I think i will have to do a post about my awesome Caribbean family soon :)

(just a small portion of my awesome family on my college graduation day!)

2. My friends: Moving back up to NC has let me be around my best friends from college again. We are all in very different places in our lives but when we are together it is just pure fun and enjoyment. I missed these ladies so much when I was away but it nice to know that coming back into town has not stopped our love of each others company. The only thing that has stopped is our ridiculous night events and hangovers and dance parties. They have calmed down quite a bit but since my birthday is coming up in October I think that may be the time to relive the good ol' days ;)

3. Having a part time job: Point blank. I was lucky to be able to find a job when I first got to NC but now it has really picked up so I'm getting decent hours and can still pay the bills that I still have. Gas in my tank is always a plus! Its still difficult because with a shopping habit as bad as mine I am quick to spend all my money on some shoes and eat Ramen for 2 weeks until the next paycheck. But the shoes I buy are always awesome and I look good on that couch rocking them! lol But yes I do hope that a full-time presents itself and gives me a chance to truly save money. 2013 I WILL be in my own place. I have to speak it into existence!!

4. Chicken Marsala. I have realized that this is my new favorite dish. My cousin cooked it last night and I have literally had 3 helpings!!! I am determined to make it in my own place and I will even spruce it up and make it my own but for now my cousin's cooking is the bomb.com. I didn't get a pic for obvious reasons!!

Have a great Tuesday!

My trip to the Concrete Jungle...NYC

So I'm finally able to post a couple of Instagram pictures from my trip to NYC. Let me just say that because of this trip I have realized how much I need a longer battery for my Iphone. I would have had more pictures but my phone kept dying :/ How am I supposed to Tweet, text, take pictures, and use apps for 12 hours and no plugs anywhere? I hate being that person that always carries a charger with them but until I get a Mophie that is what I have to do.

1. My CUTE travel bag that I got from Ross. It was perfect for me because it was comfortable to carry (and I had to carry it a lot all over the dang city) and it held alot. I was there for 4 days and had so much in there!

2. While on the subway headed to meet up with my sorority sister, a tall skinny guy walks on the train and proceeds to dance to Billie Jean, moves and all. It was highly random and I heard about this happening regularly, but to experience it is another story. I have to say, he was pretty good. I didn't have any cash to give him a tip though.

3. I was only in Times Square for a short time, but I thought that the advertisements all around were very nice. Of course I went the weekend that Batman came out so I really thought the movie ad was cool. It took up an entire building which is just so crazy!

4. Like I stated earlier my phone was ALWAYS dying. From using my subway apps to get around and tweeting about my trip, my phone was always in the red by 7pm. Luckily I had my charger and I managed to find an outlet at every bar we went to. Yeah I did that lol It was great because I don't think no one every thought about it until I did it.

5. My partner in crime Stephanie and I the first night in NYC. She is my favorite person to party with because we are very adaptable when things don't exactly work out as planned. My sorority sisters are my party people and since I left Orlando it was my first time seeing her in almost a month. My shirt, which I got from H&M, says "Dance until Dawn" and that's really how it is there. We were out at the bar until 330am and took a bus to NJ where we were staying and didn't roll up in the house until 5am. I think the whole weekend I slept a total of 10 hours. In 4 days? That's so unhealthy.

6. Our last day up north some of our frat brothers took us to Jersey City to go to brunch and then to a pier bar called Surf City. We had some drinks, took in the view and watched people drive by in their ridiculous yachts. It was awesome. Nice way to start the day before we headed to a BBQ.

7. Banana King is an awesome place. Its like Latin fast food. And the shakes. OMG. I had a passion fruit shake and it was crack. I am a Jamba juice junkie and this was a very close second. I enjoyed it along with a pork sandwich and a beef empanada. I was in heaven. Its so hilarious that one tip I was told was that to go to a BBQ up north you should eat ahead of time. Which is why we went to Banana King first. Apparently so many people come out that you cant guarantee a lot of food. So i was full at the BBQ and drank only water and a couple cups of Upsilon punch :)

8. The BBQ we headed to was in NJ and it was nice to just hang out. Of course it was ridiculously hot but I just enjoyed the company of everyone. It was definitely a maxi dress kind of day so I pulled out blue purple and white one I got from Burlington Coat Factory. I love it! There was a basketball tournament (guys with shirts off) and music, so it was chill.

Sunday evening I had to get back on my bus and start my journey back to NC. At the end of my trip, I reflected that I have a terrible sense of direction and that next time I go to NYC i will be more prepared money wise and clothing wise.

The savior of my trip was my purse. I carried my life in that thing and was always prepared to go from day to night. You cant take the subway in 4 in heels so I had to have them in my bag along with make-up, sweater, sandals, and regular purse contents. Let me just say that after this weekend my arms were worked out.

All in all great trip...Im already trying to figure out another time to go back :)

Blog Thoughts

For the last couple of weeks I have been reading about ways to improve your blog. I know that I am new to the blog community and all it has to offer, but I am very eager to learn.

I started this blog to document my life with the possibility of others enjoying my life stories and the events that happen in it. So far its been pretty good, but there are definitely some things that I have realized over the last couple months.

* The number of page views does not determine if my blog is interesting or not...it could just be how I am "marketing" my blog. I've only been on here actively for about 3 months so I'm not going to instantly have 300 followers! It takes work and patience. And since I currently don't have a full time job (yes I keep saying that) I should be able to be consistent on here!

*Blogging should be fun and as soon as I find it work and a pain I should take a step back and come back to it. I should blog about my life, not my life be all about the blog.

* I think I am looking most forward to getting the to know more bloggers. I love reading about such fascinating people even if they don't think they are. I don't just follow anyone for numbers. If you are interesting I want to read you every week so I follow. I just hope to get to that point with some fellow bloggers one day.

* These meet-ups and exchanges are such awesome ideas and I am hoping to get the chance to participate soon! Growing up in a military family I moved around a lot and got the opportunity to meet different people. Now that I'm older and not traveling with my family as much its nice to have a chance to do the same thing in a new way. Everyone has their best friends, their acquaintances; but not everyone has blog friends!

So some things that I plan on improving on my blog...
1. Replying to comments: I love that some people take the time to comment on my blog. I see them I promise! I want to respond and possibly continue contact!
2. I eventually will make a button. In order to dive head first into this swapping thing I first need to create something to swap!
3. Add more tabs. I noticed that it would be nice to have an "About Me" section!

Is there any advice you have for me or any tips that have worked for you?

Yolo Mondays #1

stillbeingmolly

Being that this is my first time doing this link-up I decided that I would explore Polyvore.com. I have come to the conclusion that it is not conducive to my shopping addiction!! I want EVERYTHING!!! But i narrowed it down to one outfit that I am determined to get and decided to use this for my post.

Navy Blue and White

This outfit is so cute!
I usually don't wear stripes (because I have a large chest) but I like the cut of this shirt and it looks really comfy. I also like shirts that hang on my shoulders and is not so structured.

Blue has been my color this summer. Teal, Royal, Navy, I have been wearing it all! I'm interested to see what my color this Fall with be. I tend to gravitate towards black in the Fall (i love boots!), but maybe something will pop up and Ill find a lot of Red...or hopefully Purple since that's my favorite color.

I am really into smaller purses and I am trying to build up my clutch collection. This handbag is small enough to carry but also comes with a chain for shopping! I love that...

For the last couple weeks Old Navy has been talking about their colored jeans and even though they have been the thing to get all summer....I have not really picked it up as quickly. The only pair I have are Royal Blue. But I want more! Red, Black, and Dark Blue are on my list!

I am very simple when it comes to shoes...heels and chucks! I have about 8 pairs of converse and these Navy Blue ones are going to be my next purchase!

I have seriously been on a mission to get some white pants and I'm still determined! I have about 12 things in my closet that would look awesome with them.

But is that whole "no white pants after Labor Day" still true?

Friday Letters #3

Dear Summer....Its time for you to go. I am ready to hang out with Fall. We are super tight!!! I love fall fashion and everything about the weather. Plus my birthday is in October :) Fall come quicker!!

Dear NYC....please look over me and my traveling sister as we embark on an event filled weekend in the city. I hate public transportation but I am sucking it up for the sake of a wonderful experience. Be nice!

Dear Bank Account...make sure you don't give out on me. You know I cant pass up a good drink special or food truck so make sure I don't empty you out so fast!

Dear Iphone...just wanted to say a quick I LOVE YOU. Its so crazy to think that this time last year I was still with my Blackberry talking about how much Iphones suck and that I would NEVER get one. Never say never I guess :)

Does anyone have any awesome plans this weekend?
Anyone going to be in New York?

Bourgie Recap so far in July...

I realized today that it had been almost a week since I last wrote a post and that I was about to head to NY on Thursday...that would have meant I wouldn't be at a computer to write until MONDAY. So i wanted to be able to get something out now! This is merely an update on my life, my weekend and details about my upcoming travels :)

So first off...I want to say how excited I am about 25 followers!!! Yay for people who actually read my blog. I mean I would still write here even if no one read but still its exciting. Thanks to all who read and comment. I'm trying to be like all you guys when I grow up in the blog world!

July has been a crazy month so far....
Diving head first into my part time job...
Searching for a full time job...
Reconnecting with my friends here in NC...
Traveling to visit friends and family...

But all in all things are really good in Charlotte.
I am starting to miss Orlando and I'm already planning my trip back to visit. But first I gotta make stops in Georgia and Virginia.

So a couple of recaps through photos...
I was finally able to obtain a coral color for the month of July that I love. Its Wet n Wild of course called "Heatwave" its great and I even found an accent nail color called "Through the Grapevine" which I will probably be using for August!

If you didn't know purple is my favorite color and I have been finding sheer shirts all summer. I love the way they feel but they do show everything that comes in contact with it (sweat and drinks when you are in a club. yikes!) But I ending up purchasing these collared shirts in Purple, Coral, and Tan. I really want a Royal Blue and a Black one. Would that be too many?

My best friend Nicole has been everywhere with me and letting me get reacquainted with Charlotte. We headed to a bar called Prohibition and had a blast. But it was soooo hot because it rained before we arrived so humidity was at a all time high! But we danced the night away and it was a great Saturday night!

Friday night I went out with "the girls" Tiffany, Nicole, Lauren to celebrate Laurens Bday. Margartias and food at Texas Roadhouse and the movies to see TED. I highly recommend their Margaritas. They are HUGE and so delicious. My go to is always frozen strawberry.

Since I cant be near Gregory we have gotten used to skyping for hours. Its so nice to talk to him like hes actually here and we listen to music and watch TV together lol

My two favorite purchases this month have been my leopard shoes from Off Broadway and my Aqua purse from ShoeDazzle. So cute and comfy!

Well thats all for now...Im off to start packing for NY!!!!!

Sunday Confessions #4

1. I really am over this heat. It makes people grumpy, irritable, and snappy. Or maybe that is just the people I have been dealing with. Thanks God next week it will be in the 80s. Its also supposed to rain so that will be a nice change.

2. I am addicted to Instagram. I am constantly refreshing the app looking at what people are doing. Its annoying when one persons account is only filled with pictures of just them. The point of it is to see your life; not just profile pictures. But I still look lol. Follow me @missnewbourgie (shameless plug lol) but I also post some of those pics on here too.

3. I want to try the Insanity workout. I saw the infomercial today while watching TV and I got pumped up (like I always do) and really considered ordering it. But then I stopped. I knew that if I got it the DVD would just sit and collect dust without someone yelling at me to do it. I need to find some motivation for these 20 pounds I'm trying to lose. Insanity seems a little bit more doable that joining a gym. Anyone ever tried Insanity?

Hope everyone has a great week!

Pinterest steam running low...

Today I really didn't have anything to write about, but I decided to take a trip to Pinterest since it had been so long since I last was on there. I feel like Pinterest is getting a bit redundant.

Does anyone else feel that way?

I have become really picky about my Pins and my boards are filled with stuff I really enjoy. Here are some of my favorite funny quotes that I found today that made me smile.

I wish I was having an eventful Saturday but alas plans have fallen through.
*sigh* I need this not to be a re-occurring thing.

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone is having a great holiday! I love driving around town seeing all the flags and decorations and since my father is a Marine its nice to see all the love and appreciation increase for him serving his country.

One of my favorite parts of the 4th of July is fireworks...but would you believe I have never shot off fireworks? Like buy from the side of a gas station, light in the middle of the street, hope that we don't blow off fingers fireworks lol

But my parents will not allow fireworks in or around the house...yes and even though I am 25 and home visiting I still listen to their rules. Well most of them anyway. So maybe next year,, *sigh*

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today is my mother's birthday. It was such a nice day!

*Dinner at BoneFish Grill. Delicious food! We left sooooo stuffed! This Bang Bang Shrimp looked so tasty. But I'm allergic to shellfish so my mom had to try them by herself.
*Shopping spree (i got a couple items too)
*Reality TV time! I got my mother hooked on all the trashy shows I like so its great to watch them together!

It was a great day and I am so happy that I get to be home for her birthday and spend time with my parents this week. Tomorrow should be a great day of BBQ, movies, and more pics to come! Lets hope the weather holds up.
