Johnnyswim

I spent an evening last week with my best friend in the NoDa Art District. We were at the Neighborhood Theatre and I have to say the venue is pretty cool. Very open, relaxed atmosphere and acoustically awesome (you could hear them clearly in any part of the building!)

We had the pleasure of getting to see JohnnySwim. They are a married duo from Nashville and they are amazing. The woman Amanda Sudano is Diana Ross' daughter! Talk about talent! Now I remember seeing a song by them in 2013 called Heartbeats and I loved it, but then I didn't hear about them again until this year when Nicole told me about their album finally coming out and they were headed to Charlotte on tour. Apparently I'm the last one in the house to listen to them because both of my roomies have been blasting them over the last couple of months.

Their opener was named Liz Longley and she is great! Another artist coming out of Nashville I was really able to relate to most of her songs and my friend even bought her CD. She was out front selling them herself btw so we got to talk to her and everything. I didn't get to record any videos of her because of memory saving tactics on my phone, but enjoy this grainy action pic and a YouTube video of the song I love called "Camaro". This is my absolute favorite of hers. Mostly because I relate to it completely. Dealing with heartbreak is rough.

"Camaro"

So before the Johnnyswim concert I listened to their new album on repeat and I have to say I quickly developed some favorites. Check out their album "Diamonds" if you get a chance. You won't regret it. I only videoed snippets of my favorites. Take the World, A Million Years, and Pay Dearly are at the top. Enjoy my videos and pics, even though they do not do them justice!

A Million Years (close you eyes and the video wont be so bad lol)

I Want You Back!

Breaking News! Rumors!

So there has been lots of talk that *NSYNC may have a reunion at the VMAs this weekend!
This is the most exciting news I've heard all year!
I really hope this happens *crosses fingers*
I may even wear my shirt for the occasion.
Still in good condition after 10+ years.

Every girl in the world that grew up with these men will revert back to their preteen self and just lose it!
That was such a great time to be a girl!

I was personally a JC fan.
I thought he sang better, dressed better, and looked better.
That man could do no wrong.
And when he did this on my concert DVD...

I wanted to marry him. O_o

Moving on....

So In honor of the best boy band of all time (its a fact not my opinion)
I thought I would share my Top 5 NSYNC song of all time list.
Its ridiculous to narrow it down to 5, but it forced to really think about it.
Plus it gave me a chance to dust off my old CDs turn on my Ipod and jam out!

I was all about what songs were the catchiest,
had the sexiest music videos,
and evoked emotion.
At least from my 11-15 year old self.

I've included all the videos for your viewing pleasure.

Five. Girlfriend
I love this song. I will say that about every *NSYNC song on this list just warning you.
I especially liked the fact that there was a remix with Nelly which made it fun.
But I was jealous of the girls up close and personal with the guys in the video.
And considering this is pre-Bieber, I think its a lot more desirable to be asked to be someones girlfriend, then for you to tell me all the reasons you should be my boyfriend.
No thanks Bieber.

Four. This I Promise You
Such a sweet song and I have such fond memories of this song being performed live.
I went to the No Strings Attached tour when they came to San Diego. 2000 was the best year of my life because of that tour (okay well not my life, but when you are 14 that was the best moment).
They traveled across the moving stage into the audience and threw flowers out into the audience *swoon*
I'm sure when this came out it was a popular wedding song.

Three. Its Gonna Be Me
No Strings Attached is my favorite NSYNC album and this song tops the list of favorites from it.
I will let my obsessed fanatic flag fly and say that I knew all the choreography from this music video, I had the puppets and I suddenly became into snakeskin because JC wore snakeskin pants in the video.
I would do it in my room all the time whenever TRL played it.
(OMG do you remember TRL?)
Plus this was also during Justin's fro look and I swear every white boy I knew in middle school wanted his hair so the girls would pay attention! LOL

Two. Tearin' Up My Heart
Yep its not Tearing...its Tearin'. You gotta love the slang. And 90s music videos.
A classic! If you don't know the words to this song you didn't have a fun childhood.
Just kidding (not really)
Even the guys I knew liked this song. *NSYNC was an epidemic when they came out. But can anyone explain to me why they were in a warehouse and why there was a bed?
I don't know but they looked so cool, cute and fun!
They were so baby faced. I miss them like this!

and the greatest *NSYNC song is...

One. Gone
The best. Point Blank.
Even though I was not going through relationship angst in middle school (no dating for me until wayyyy later) I thought this song was amazing and I have cried on more than one occasion hearing this song.
We will blame it on hormones. I was 14.
Even the Spanish version of this song was so pretty.
I love love love this song.

So that's my list. Runners up included "Bye Bye Bye", "I Want You Back", and "Pop", but I needed to choose. But we all know that any *NSYNC song is a good one.

If its been awhile since you have listened to these me sing;
You're welcome!

What songs would you put on your list?
Who is your favorite guy?

XOXO

Feb Monthly Playlist #1

Oh yes...this is normal.

Greg and I LOVE music...
We are always talking about it and always debating about what songs are going to take off,
be popular, win a Grammy, etc.

We are always in search of new songs no one has ever heard yet.
I can definitely say that we are all over the place with genres.
We listen to pretty much anything (okay not anything , but I promise Greg will at least give it a try before vetoing it). It's so much fun looking at all the music sites.

So I thought it would be a cool idea to collaborate and create a monthly playlist of songs we cannot get enough of! I wanted to share them because I think its great to share music with new people. Sometimes you may not know about a good song until you hear or see it from the most random places.

Check them out because I definitely suggest listening to these songs if you haven't already!
Each of us chose 20 songs each because since its once a month it gives us the opportunity to have a wide variety of songs! We also included some reasons why we love these songs.

My Playlist
1. Maroon 5 - Lucky Strike
2. Chris Brown - Don't Judge Me
3. Justin Bieber - Beauty and a Beat
4. Will.I.Am feat Britney Spears - Scream and Shout This song makes me dance and I love the beat. It's so different and can put you in a good mood and of course make you want to go out and spend a night partying with your girls!
5. Mr. Vegas - Bruk It Down

6. Ke$ha - C'mon
7. The Lumineers - Ho Hey
8. Ed Sheeran - The A Team
9. Macklemore - Thrift Shop I saw the video along with hearing the song for the first time. I have to say it made me love it even more. The song is so random and hilarious plus Macklemore is such an interesting group. I love thrift shops in general so it made me want to search Charlotte for more so I can find a deer sweater!
10. Tamar Braxton - Love and War

11. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble
12. Flo Rida - I Cry
13. Melanie Fiona - Gone She is my favorite female artist right now and this song I have to sing along when I hear it. Such a pretty song, but so sad.
14. One Direction - Little Things
15. Rihanna - Pour It Up

16. The Vines - Get Free
17. Katy Perry - Wide Awake
18. Sevyn Streeter - I Like It
19. Frank Ocean - Lost
20. Phillip Phillips - Home When I first heard this song I thought it was a Mumford and Sons song, so I was surprised that I enjoyed the overall feeling of it. But its a very upbeat indie song so of course if the song is catchy I'm gonna dig it.

Greg's Playlist
1. Mark Ronson feat Amy Winehouse - Valerie
2. Mumford and Sons - I Will Wait
3. Alicia Keys - One Thing
4. Republic of Loose - Comeback Girl
5. B.O.B. feat T.I., Juicy J - Still in this B*tch

6. Bruno Mars - Treasure
7. Michael Jackson - Bad
8. The Fratellis - Flathead
9. Miguel - The Thrill
10. Avicii - Levels I want to party when I hear this song! It reminds me of being home in New Jersey at the shore. I can't not dance to it. I feel like I'm in the video.

11. Guy - I Like
12. Lecrae - Gravity Its a very personal song that I relate to as a Christian. The beat is hot and the lyrics are dope. Its an amazing rap song about God.
13. Ne-Yo - Don't Make'em like You
14. Kendrick Lamar - Money Trees
15. David Guetta feat Usher - Without You

16. J. Cole - Get Free
17. Wale - H20
18. Rihanna feat Kanye West - Diamonds (Remix) I enjoy the original song because its cool but I like the remix better because its classic Kanye and he is my favorite rapper.
19. The Game feat 2 Chainz - Ali Bomaye
20. Justin Timberlake feat Jay-Z - Suit & Tie this song makes you want to dress fancy and its something that describes me since I work at Express and exemplifies who I am.

Let me know if you check any of these songs out or which ones you agree with us on!

XOXO

Sunday Confessions #3

Music Addition

I love Nicki Minaj. Her performance tonight on the BET Awards made me love her all over again. A lot of people don't like her but I do and I don't care.

I have a girl crush on Melanie Fiona. If you have not heard her new album the MF Life PLEASE listen to it. Plus shes Guyanese and I love that she is a gorgeous representation of us.

I do not support D'Angelo trying to do a comeback after 12 years being gone. Uh No sir. Let me keep my image of you in "How Does it Feel" and let that be that.

I want to see Maroon 5 in concert so bad. But they are touring out of the country til who knows!!! Ugh.

I listen to the radio even though I have an IPod AND an IPhone. I like to know whats popular and what Im going to hear in the bars and in the clubs. Even though I hear the same 10 songs OVER and OVER I still sing along. *shrugs*

What is some new music I need to check out?
