Lazy Saturday

Today is rainy and blah so I thought I would take some time and visit some sites I haven"t been on in awhile...#1 being Pinterest.

If I take weeks off of the site it makes me miss it and get excited about all the new stuff I see. You can only do Pinterest for so many hours a day lol

So here are some Quotes I found today that I really like.

Lately I have been having really good days with the boo, friends, and family...so I was looking for uplifting words and things that reaffirm my thought process over the last couple months and make me smile.

My Fabulous Weekend

So this past weekend was truly a blur! It had been awhile since I was out and about this much and I have to say that it was very reminiscent to my days going out in Orlando. But it was great.

It was a birthday bonanza. 3 of my friends were celebrating birthdays so the partying never stopped.

My lovely line sister Sabrina (right) was Friday. She has been a great friend since freshman year of college and now that she is a newly married woman I have gotten the opportunity to get to know her husband Wille very well. Its always an interesting experience when we all get together.

We headed to Monteford St which is new to me but after Friday night I wish I had known about this place earlier. Bars and restaurants, great music, diverse crowd; it was everywhere I wanted to be.

Since it was a birthday celebration things got a little crazy after a few shots came out. But dancing the night away was definitely the highlight of my evening.

I was able to spend the night out with Greg as well and its so awesome to see him getting along with my friends!

Toni (left) came into town from Atlanta and she is also a September baby but spent her birthday in Las Vegas (jealous) and it was so nice to see her as well.

So here are a few highlights from that evening...

All in all a great night....

Saturday was spent having dinner with more friends including my buddy Tiffany and best friend Nicole. I will be doing a whole separate post on that because that restaurant was so interesting that I have to save it!

I'm known to wear heels to any outing or gathering and tonight all the ladies did the same! It was great! I wish we took pictures while we were there because all of us looked so cute.

But Saturday was a good night as well with drinks and food and catching up. Its so hard for all of us to get together since most of my friends are getting married, have full time jobs, have kids, etc. But it seems that birthdays are the one exception that people definitely try to make.

And that gets me excited because my birthday is in 13 days ;)

So let the birthday festivities begin!

Me Myself and I

So today I thought I would do the Me Myself and I Link-up again....it was cool!

1. When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
I do one of 3 things....SHOP, EAT, OR SLEEP.
They all tend to make me feel better.
Buying a new pair of heels will turn my mood all the way around.
Eating sushi can make any day brighter.
And sleeping for hours always makes me feel refreshed and relaxed.

2. If you had to live in a different time period, which would you prefer?
If I could do my teen years again I would love to do the 80s/90s. My parents lived their teens and early 20s during this time and seeing all the pictures and fashion it would have been very interesting to see what kind of style I would have come up with.

3. What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
Hmmmm I don't know about creative but there are a couple of costumes that are my favorites.
Pink Ranger when I was 8
Hippie when I was 13
Mob Boss when  i was 20 (man i miss being that skinny)

4. Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
a. I love Spam...like I love the way it tastes! Its the Hawaiian in me :)
b. I eat candy in pairs. I have to eat 2 M&Ms at a time.
c. I am afraid of Frogs!!!! Like seriously they terrify me.
d. I am always cold. More often than hot
e. I dislike the sound of flip flops on peoples feet. That "slap" sound makes me crazy!

5. What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Enjoy being 16. Don't be afraid to try new things and make memories. Your friends are really your friends and you don't have to worry about who is genuine or not. Once you graduate high school your whole life will change and new friends will enter your life. Also I would say your mother isn't that bad! lol

Friday Letters #4

It was such an amazing game and I was so happy to be there with my best friend! Another thing checked off my bucket list!

Dear Victor Cruz...It was awesome seeing you last night. I didn't get to salsa with you in the stadium but I definitely did it while I was tailgating in the parking lot!

Dear Weekend...Thank you for finally being here! Time to drink and be merry with friends.

Dear Grandfather...It was so good to see you last weekend. You are working hard to get stronger and keep doing your exercises!

Dear Ryan Leslie...I am soo excited to see you in concert in D.C. on October 2nd!!! Definitely another thing to check off my 101 in 1001 list!

Happy Friday!

7 Questions #2

In honor of Ashley's birthday I am posting this awesome pic of us!
Happy Birthday H Little!

Yeah. That just happened.

1. Do you ever have reoccurring dreams? I tend to always have reoccurring dreams about me getting married. But its to a different person every time so I have NO idea what that means :-/

2. It's the first day of Fall (or Spring for you southern hemispheres) in a few days, what are you looking forward to most? Sweaters and boots hands down. Fall is my favorite season. And my birthday is next month so I'm always looking forward to that!

3. Because a lack of coordination, would you rather not be able to tie your shoes or cut your own food? Not be able to tie your own shoes. That's what heels and flats are for ;)

4. Would you rather live in a house made entirely of glass or a house with no windows? A house made entirely of glass. I could always create walls of privacy. I wouldn't want to live in a building with no natural light. It would get eerie.

5. Would you rather walk on you toes or heels forever? On my heels. Too much weight on your toes could be really bad!

6. What's your favorite sense? (you have 5 btw) That's a tough question. I would choose taste. I love food too much to not be able to enjoy the way it tastes!

7. What's your favorite movie quote of all time? I have 3
From the movie Lean on Me "I don't have to do anything but stay black and die!"
From The Sandlot "You're killing me Smalls!"
From Spice World Victoria: "How do you feel about Manta Rays?"

Hope everyone is having a great week!

My weekend at a glance...

So I had a very busy weekend....went to Atlanta with Greg and it was quite an adventure.
It the first time he was meeting my extended family.

Friday: Greg and I arrived in Atlanta and stopped for some food at GrindHouse Killer Burgers
This place has amazing burgers fries!!! The most interesting thing is that they had alcoholic milkshakes called "boozy shakes". I didnt try one, I just had a mocha one, but I'm so intrigued I will have to come back and try one! Overall everything is tasty and plus the decor is really cool.

Saturday: My little cousin had a baseball game and it was cool to be able to see him play. The team won their first game and it looks like he will be playing this sport for awhile. Look out MLB!
My parents also came into town and its always great to see them.
The main reason that we came to Atlanta was to see my grandfather who is still recovering from his heart surgery in June. He has been slowing getting better every week and when I visited 2 weeks ago he requested to meet the boyfriend. You can imagine the face i made O.o because I wasn't planning on bringing Greg to meet the family until way later. But he came with me and it actually wasn't a bad experience.

Sunday: Back to Charlotte and back to work but it was great because the Giants won and the Cowboys lost in football. I was able to relax and get some good sleep. I planned out a couple of new blog posts so I feel very prepared for the week!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hey Stranger....

I'm back!!!

I believe its been about a month since I last wrote (thats a really long time!) So much has been going on and blogging was just at the bottom of priority. I tend to have little procrastination streaks where I have a laundry list of things to do and it gets longer and longer because nothing gets done yet I tend to make more lists as reminders(very counterproductive).

But im determined to get back on track because I like it so much!
I missed reading, writing, and connecting.

So stay tuned!

Football Faves

In lieu of football season starting I wanted to put up some of my favorite NFL men right now. Don't get me wrong I love my football (Giants all the way!!!) and I am looking forward to a great season but off the field these men are so nice to look at!!

Preseason isn't really that interesting, so until the regular season starts I thought I would enjoy the eye candy....Its not like basketball where you see their face all the time.

Which makes it all the better when you see pictures without the helmets and are pleasantly surprised! I sound like a hormonal teenager lol

Today's selection is CAM NEWTON!
He just recently did a spread and was on the cover of GQ mgazine.
Even if you aren't a Panthers fan you really can't help but swoon!

I love nice teeth!!!

Seriously...I'm so glad I live in North Carolina :)

Im still confused about why they would do such an amazing photo shoot for a Men's magazine!
Could I have these shots in my Cosmo or InStyle please??

Even if you aren't a fan of watching football....Who is your eye candy in the NFL?

Random Thursday #3

Here are mine...i have quite a few.
When things get introduced in my life, I take them and enjoy it until I cant anymore.

1. Bad Girls Club
It is very well known that I am a Reality TV junkie. Like, I may need rehab for it, but my all time favorite show is Bad Girls Club. After about 9 seasons (and ive seen every single episode) it has gotten pretty predictable, but I cannot resist watching 7 girls constantly fight and try to be the alpha-female in the house and overall try to "change" lol. Its so trashy its good!

2. Instagram (these are not my pics)
This app was the FIRST one that I downloaded as soon as I got my iphone and i've been in love ever since. Along with Twitter, I check Instagram everyday. I love taking pictures and enjoy looking at all my friends seeing all the cool things they are doing. Plus i like how the filters make me look! :)

3. MAC Studio Finish Concealer
Somehow being the multiple hour sleeper I am (we are talking some days almost 9 hours when i'm not working) I still wake up with bags under my eyes. So to combat it I use MAC Studio Finish Concealer. It is fabulous and blends well. I don't like to use is everyday, but when I am going out...it is my go-to!

4. Simply Lemonade
Sooooo yummy! And my favorite is the Raspberry Lemonade.
Mix it with a little raspberry vodka and its amazing!!
But by itself I could drink it everyday.
Plus its all natural. Nothing wrong with that :)

Happy Wednesday!

7 Questions!!

Today is my first time doing the 7 Questions so i'm really excited!!

(dont ask...lol)

1. It's back to school time! Are YOU going back to school? I graduated from college in 2008. I am definitely considering getting my Masters but that requires M-O-N-E-Y and i'm still paying off my loans from my bachelors!! But I would love to get my Masters in Higher Education. We shall see in the next year.

2. Speaking of back to school... You receive 10 pts if you can name this movie:
"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."
I confess that I had to look up this movie. You've Got Mail is such a cute movie though. I haven't seen it in forever so I may dig into NetFlix and see if they have it!

3. Who did you hang out with in school? Cool kids, jocks, nerds, were you a loner, etc? (all are welcome here- btw) I would say that I was a floater....I was a cheerleader so that was considered a "cool kid" and a "jock" (cheerleaders were big time competitors at my school) but I was also Student Body Vice President so I was frequently around "nerds". I hung out with everyone so everyone liked me. No problems there. I think thats how it should be. Everyone can find at least one common interest you just have to take the time to find it.

After School Beach times were frequent!

4. What was your favorite subject in school? Anything that required my creative juices to flow. I loved English (i was able to write about whatever I wanted) and Theater (I was creative director) and Event Planning (planning a department banquet for my College). I tend to not do well in math or science....ZZZzzz

5. (I've asked this question before, but it was a while ago) If you had to go back and redo one of the following, which would you choose and why? Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, High School, College? I would definitely do Middle School over again because I might have become interested in other sports. Or I might have taken more opportunities in activities and experiences. Everything happens for a reason but I think I might have a different outlook on sports or maybe not have wasted time doing certain things.

6. Home/ Packed Lunch or School Lunch? School Lunch!! Going to school in Hawaii was a great experience and one thing that I lucked out on was amazing and delicious school lunch! Okay well maybe not amazing but most of it was really tasty! Chicken sandwich and Kalua Pork (yummy) Days were the most popular and we had a salad bar and Nacho Day and great things. Not as healthy as it should have been but it kept us happy.

circa 2004

7. What's more exciting? The first day of school or the last day of school? Definitely the first day of school. I love getting new clothes and new school supplies (yes getting new pens, paper, and notebooks) and the anxiousness of new classes and people. The last day of school is more of a relief and excitement to just be done! But the first day is kind of awesome because you get a fresh start.

Hope everyone has a great day!
