Guac! Guac! Guac!

So I can finally cross #57 on my 101 in 1001 list: Make Guacamole from scratch!
As much as I love Chipotle's guacamole I am surprised it has taken me this long to do it.
But I was craving it and I didn't want all my ingredients to go bad.

Trader Joe's has a container that has all the ingredients needed to make guacamole! I am all about prepackaged stuff and of course I love Trader Joe's
I was so excited when I saw this I had to try it.
I know that people make guac several different ways but I decided to see how this worked.

Turns out it was so bad. There was even simple fail proof instructions. I knew this was made for me.

It's really hard to mess this up. So a couple nights ago I got to work.
I peeled, diced, and chopped my way through the whole container.

Once I mixed it all together I was so proud of myself.
After trying it I was pleasantly surprised!
So yummy!

Some conclusions that I made about my guacamole experience.
  • Next time I will add more avocado.
  • 2 onions was overpowering. Next time I will use one.
  • This recipe has jalepenos. But no cilantro. I think I'll try using that next time.
  • It definitely needs more lime juice. One is not enough.
  • I was happy that I didn't need to add salt.
Anyone have any guacamole recipes you would like to share?

 XOXO

Way to go on completing one of the things you want to do! I LOVE homemade guacamole. I definitely go light on the onions, de-seed the tomatoes before I put them in, and add cilantro paste (it is found in the aisle where the fresh cilantro is). I think the paste is easier to use because it doesnt stick in your teeth!

Thanks for linking up with us today!

I LOVE guac! Cilantro is a must in my guac. And I don't like onions so I go reallllly light on those. :)

Mmmmm I love guacamole! I definitely always load in the cilantro though. And my secret ingredient... a bit of olive oil. :) ~Stephanie
