Instagram Life

1. Tried Moonshine at the bowling alley. Strawberry flavored...and it was delicious!

2. First day of it being sunny and warm outside. Had to rock to hot pink shades!

3.First time cooking with mushrooms. Sauteed mushrooms with chicken, rice, and green beans

4. Working at a recreation center sometimes is really calming...when no one is there yet.

5. Pedicure for the start of Spring. I'm excited to put on some cute polish!

6. Outside on the porch drinking a milkshake. Thank you Chick Fil A

7. The Chicken Coop is a landmark in Charlotte. Been around forever!

8. Michael Kors has these babies at Dillards and I need them in my life!!

10. A stroll competition was the next day...those are my sisters with all that hair flying!

11. Sister/Brother picnic reunited me with some of my favorite sorority sisters!

My Weekend

This weekend was very low-key

And I loved it.

I slept in, did some grocery shopping, and caught up on my DVR.

Nothing riveting but since the weather was amazing I was also outside a lot too.

Having a porch is so awesome!

Coachella was this weekend and since I obviously couldn't go I was happy to utilize Youtube's live feed.

This isn't a big deal but on a Friday delirious from Wal Mart I got really excited!

So I saw for the first time that Arizona Tea has CANS. 

I was seriously excited since I am addicted to their Green Tea. 

The 99 cent can you can get anywhere was a go to whenever I stopped for gas, but I never finished it. 

I think these cans are perfect! 

But yeah....I may be a little late. Did anyone else know about these?

I recommend the Rosemary and Garlic mix.

So yummy that I made it with Chicken and Tilapia.

I got a thumbs up from my roommates!!

I Love Packages!

 I had been meaning to write about this for awhile I just kept forgetting. 

But I wanted to share my cute package my mother sent to me!

Everyone loves getting stuff in the mail, so of course I got excited when my mom sent me a box just because.

Check out the neat stuff I got.

1. My mom makes cards from scratch. Its her thing. Any holiday, any occasion, she will make one. She has a craft room and locks herself in there to make cards. Believe me that I get a handmade card every birthday. I keep them all! Even the boy has started getting them.

2. As if I didn't have enough shoe related things in my room, My mom managed to find a SHOE CALENDAR. A different shoe for everyday of the year. Some of them are really snazzy, but others are just really interesting looking and kind of strange. But nonetheless cool.

3. Since I got my first Pandora bracelet for my 26th birthday I have trying to find some cute charms to fill it up. I love turtles so when I found this charm I showed my mother. I guess she listened. I also really like the breast cancer ribbon. It is very important to me since BC is very high in my family. It is also the philanthropy of my sorority right now.

4. I have been using this cup since the day that I got it. I think it is awesome because of Smurfette (who I love) and these cups are so convenient. I am growing my collection quickly.

5. Leopard Sperrys: So Cute! They are Leopard enough said.

6. DVDs. My mother is a movie fanatic and she is constantly buying movies. But sometimes there will be doubles. So who gets all the doubles? Me! :)

7.  My new Curry Pot! I am determined to make my own pot of curry. As someone who has a Caribbean background it would be important for me to know how to do it.

Let's Get Some Shoes!!

When I found out that this weeks Friday Fancies was Shoes I was so estatic! 

Anyone who knows me KNOWS that I am the Shoe Queen. Not Shoe Addict, Shoe QUEEN. 

But I decided to choose 4 shoes that I think are very important for Spring/Summer.

Shoes by niikirbm featuring converse sneakers

1. Wedges: I love wedges because they always make me feel so feminine. All my spring/summer dresses will be worn with wedges. I love heels, but I tend to only wear my pumps at night when I'm out on the town. Wedges are a nice alternative and there are so many to choose from!
2. Sperry's: I had to throw some leopard in there. I have a pair of leopard Sperry's that I'm so excited to wear when it warms up. These ones are just as cute.
3. Sandals: Enough said. Sandals = toes out and cute bright colored sandals! Aldo has a great collection. My favorite color Teal is everywhere!
4. Sneakers: Converse are my favorites so whenever my legs can come out I throw them on. I have some in every color, except white. This summer I may venture out and get some!

Guac! Guac! Guac!

 So I can finally cross #57 on my 101 in 1001 list: Make Guacamole from scratch! 

As much as I love Chipotle's guacamole I am surprised it has taken me this long to do it. 

But I was craving it and I didn't want all my ingredients to go bad. 

Trader Joe's has a container that has all the ingredients needed to make guacamole! I am all about prepackaged stuff and of course I love Trader Joe's

I was so excited when I saw this I had to try it. 

I know that people make guac several different ways but I decided to see how this worked. 

Turns out it was so bad. There was even simple fail proof instructions. I knew this was made for me.

It's really hard to mess this up. So a couple nights ago I got to work. 

I peeled, diced, and chopped my way through the whole container.

 Once I mixed it all together I was so proud of myself. 

After trying it I was pleasantly surprised! 

So yummy!

Some conclusions that I made about my guacamole experience.

• Next time I will add more avocado.
• 2 onions was overpowering. Next time I will use one.
• This recipe has jalepenos. But no cilantro. I think I'll try using that next time.
• It definitely needs more lime juice. One is not enough.
• I was happy that I didn't need to add salt.

Polka Dots

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

I'm dreaming about Spring! 

I found this really cute Aeropostale polka dot top that would really show off that Spring is here! 

Its in Mint Green so of course I thought it was amazing!

I like to not go overboard with prints so one item with print is all I need.

Keeping it casual I would wear this outfit to a weekend shopping trip or to lunch with friends! 

I am dying to wear white so these shorts are so cute! 

I'm not one who shows my thighs too much so the longer the shorts the better!

Lately I have been into studs so Aldo is my place to go for cute and edgy accessories. 

These square studs share the polka dot motif so they go perfectly! 

And with the sun finally out and about these sunglasses are super cute and springy!

I am DYING to get some TOMS and aside from leopard, glitter is where its at. These TOMs are definitely on my "need to buy" list. They have been for about 3 months. Hopefully I will get them soon and rock them all summer!

Working with what I have...

I have been on a mission lately. 

To curb my habit of shopping and wear the clothes in my closet that I already have more. 

I still have tags on a lot of things; but then there are some items that I have worn once and never again. 

I love to add new pieces to my wardrobe, but I need to be able to incorporate what I have currently into the mix and get more creative.

So when Danielle from Framed Frosting created her Six Piece Remix challenge I was so down to participate! One of my good friends was celebrating a birthday this weekend, so I thought that would be a good opportunity to start.

Dalmatian High-Low Shirt:
Whenever I where this shirt I feel so large because of how loose it is. So I decided to fix it. The last time I wore this shirt I wore it as a cover up of my bathing suit with jean shorts. I wanted to dress this shirt up more this time.

In order to make it work I tucked it into my leggings and let the front hang loose in the front so the High part didnt show. I liked the shirt a lot better like this because it made the outfit more form-fitting and sexy. I think I may do some DIY to the shirt and cut it so it stays like this all the time because there were some moments where it came out and I struggled.

But other than that I loved my outfit!!

March Playlist (i know it is April)

It's April now...but I still wanted to do my playlist for the month of March. 

There was some good music that was around this past month (Justin Timberlake's album being the #1 thing being listened to in our house!) and I still wanted to share some of my favorites. 

Greg made his playlist too of course but we slimmed it down to 10 each.

I was also able to get my best friend Nicole (who I mention all the time on my blog) to make a quick playlist!

This is a special occasion since she really only listens to the Glee Cast versions of songs anyway...
