Weekend Marathon

I had a pretty hectic weekend. It has been awhile since I've had plans everyday. From Thursday to Sunday. No stopping. But it was all a good time. I'm still getting back in my "take pictures of everything in anticipation of blogging" mode. But for now check out my jam packed weekend.

these crazy kids...

Thursday: Spent the day volunteering with Nicole's church Elevation. They have something called "Love Week" every year where everyone goes out into the community of Charlotte to give back and spread the "love". I've known about it for awhile but this is the first year taking part. Me and the roomies all decided to volunteering renovating a house in East Charlotte. Painting, yard work, etc. Good times.

The evening was really long and exhausting. But so much fun. Met up with some friends to see a Michael Jackson cover band...but it rained out and no performance. So what do you do when that happens? Bar hop around the city and try to avoid the rain (the weekend ending up being so gray and rainy). Highlight of my night. Eating some amazing Queso at VidaVida. Good food moves me to photograph it, so it only makes sense that this is the only picture I have of the night.

Friday: Had a friend in town so I mustered up the energy to go out again. Hit uptown to Cosmos. Thought I was really being creative with my Snapchat right here. Plus my makeup looks on point.

Saturday: Early morning work. This time; Senior Basketball 3 on 3. I'm talking 50 and over running up and down the court (well half of the court) and shooting 3 pointers better than a lot of guys I see my age. They've still got it and it goes to show you that even though you get to a certain age, you can still do what you love. Just take care of yourself.

I spent my night with some of my favorite people. I met up with some of my best friends from college who are in my sorority with me for dinner and drinks afterward. It was so nice to catch up! The Plaza Midwood area of Charlotte is pretty nice. I had been to a couple places but not on a weekend. I love the casual atmosphere even though my attire didn't match. I wish I had gotten a full picture of my outfit that night. I was channeling the 90s with my high waited acid wash jeans, white pumps, and black blazer. I was taking it out for a test spin and it was a hit! Anyone else getting more into 90s fashion? Or just taking more risks in general?

Sunday I started my Job #3 as a hostess (more on that later), so my morning was spent training. And in the evening I watched the Giants play in their first game of the season. Its preseason, but still a win is a win. My GMen were looking pretty good out there! Lets hope that its a preview of great things to come. Anyone else overcome with joy that its time for football????

Hope everyone has a great week!

Its Monday again...

Well its Monday again...time to go back to work.

Maybe not me...I decided I needed a personal day to do all my household stuff that I haven't been able to do.

My last day off was two Tuesdays ago. I need this day!

Some awesome shopping and getting my hair done are also on the list.

But I did have a really good weekend.

One of my bestest friends ever BJ had his birthday house party! So Saturday night was dedicated to him.
Its always a good time when we all get together.

So Greg, Nicole, and I headed over there to drink, dance and be merry.

1. Me and Greg with our regular bathroom pic
2. Flip Cup...Ladies vs Men and the Ladies were triumphant!
3. The Dos Equis guy was a topic of discussion for some reason when we arrived and yes that is a BB Gun in Nicole's hands!!
4. BJs birthday gift; Crown Royal Maple (tasted disgusting)
5. All night BJ and Greg quoted movies! Glad he has someone to do that with besides me!
6. "No one knows what it means...but its provocative" "Gets the people going!"

XOXO

My weekend at a glance...

So I had a very busy weekend....went to Atlanta with Greg and it was quite an adventure.
It the first time he was meeting my extended family.

Friday: Greg and I arrived in Atlanta and stopped for some food at GrindHouse Killer Burgers
This place has amazing burgers fries!!! The most interesting thing is that they had alcoholic milkshakes called "boozy shakes". I didnt try one, I just had a mocha one, but I'm so intrigued I will have to come back and try one! Overall everything is tasty and plus the decor is really cool.

Saturday: My little cousin had a baseball game and it was cool to be able to see him play. The team won their first game and it looks like he will be playing this sport for awhile. Look out MLB!
My parents also came into town and its always great to see them.
The main reason that we came to Atlanta was to see my grandfather who is still recovering from his heart surgery in June. He has been slowing getting better every week and when I visited 2 weeks ago he requested to meet the boyfriend. You can imagine the face i made O.o because I wasn't planning on bringing Greg to meet the family until way later. But he came with me and it actually wasn't a bad experience.

Sunday: Back to Charlotte and back to work but it was great because the Giants won and the Cowboys lost in football. I was able to relax and get some good sleep. I planned out a couple of new blog posts so I feel very prepared for the week!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Photo Fun Monday #1

1. I reunited my line sisters finally and we decided to go to this restaurant called Pinky's. It was this funky little dive that had amazing food and crazy drinks! I tasted this Green Chile Pork sandwich and their waffle fries rival Chik Fil A (dare I say) and I definitely have to go back again. The honey cilantro coleslaw was amazing!
2. My girls Melissa and Sabrina :)
3. The menu of crazy drinks. They had some outrageous names like Kraken Krunk and Dirty Blonde and my favorite Mr. Miyagi!!
4. I went crazy at Forever 21 the other day and got some really awesome things to wear for my trip to New York in 2 weeks
5. Back in VA this week visiting my family for 4th of July and my mothers birthday!
6. Relaxing at home finally getting to read Hunger Games (don't judge, I haven't seen the movie either) and enjoying the air condition as it cooks people outside lol

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

Blog Bananza

Its MONDAY!!!! I have to make it seem like I'm excited about it but really I'm not...I'm back in my office doing everything but actual work lol. Randomly with work I seem to spend my mornings doing nothing but after lunch I have the sudden urge to be productive and do as much work as I can so I don't fall behind. Once Thursday or Friday hits I don't even want to look at a piece of paper.

So to pass time today I have been going Blog Crazy. Like literally sitting here staring at numerous blogs trying to figure who I would like to follow and read about weekly. I hope that one day my blog would get as much traffic as others but I realized that even if that doesn't happen Ill still be happy that I am keeping up with my life.

While looking at all these lovely females blogs I saw that a lot of them want to be fashion or beauty consultants. That is just not me. Don't get me wrong, I love make-up, shoes, clothes, all things girly, but I know that I could never keep up weekly with trying new products and giving opinions about trends and such. I love me some shoes though so if anything I would definitely be posting about my weekly shoe buys (because seriously I'm buying like a new pair every week!). I like to read these blogs but I truly just love to read about peoples adventures in cities that I don't live in or might not ever get the chance to travel to.

My favorite blogs though to read right now are the ones that are kind of a collection of everything where it seems like they just want to connect with people outside of their own world and that's cool to me. I feel like that's me; more of a "lifestyle" type blog. One day Ill feel like talking about what I bought at the mall, the next day I could talk about my battle with cleaning and organizing my closet, and then start babbling about my obsession with sushi. All that can be jammed in here and I love reading posts like that on other blogs because I could relate and comment.

So the blogs I have chosen to follow are all over the place. I'm still figuring out how to dress up my blog and add more connection links but I will have a section to show all the blogs I check out. But until then I recommend going to bloglovin.com to start!
